Word of the Month:
Piling up books to save for later… even if you’ll never actually read them
May 5th & 7th: Pop-Up Vendor
Tas McWilliams will be in the shop from 10-5 on Friday, May 5th, and 10-4 on Sunday, May 7th to share her Indian-style clothing and jewelry. She will have various scarves, skirts, shirts, pants, and a variety of jewelry. Get something nice for your Mum! (Reminder: Mother’s Day April 14th)
May 7th: Spring Fling XXVI Car Show in the Leonardtown Square
Due to rain on the initial day of the Spring Fling, the car show will now be on May 7th. The car show begins at 8 AM and goes all the way until 4 PM. Fawn over antique cars till your heart’s content at this expo of beauty in machinery. There will also be the annual “Running of the Balls” by the Leonardtown Rotary Club. The square and some of the side roads will be closed.
May 6th: Local Author Book Signing
Check out the latest book by Vivian VanDamn. It is a spicy, dark romance for adults. She will be here meeting her fans and signing books from 12 PM-4 PM
May 14th: Mother’s Day
We will be opening an hour late for Mother’s Day. We will be opening at 11 AM Sunday morning.
Treat your Mum to a day in Leonardtown! Great restaurants, awesome shopping, intriguing history, lovely scenery, AND a fantastic bookstore! (We have gift certificates, too)
To celebrate Asian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, we have stocked up on some of our favorites. Challenge yourself to make 1000 paper cranes with our origami sets with beautiful oriental artwork. If that’s not your speed, fold your own Hedwig or Pikachu with our ‘Harry Potter’ and ‘Pokemon’ Origami instructional guides.
New arrivals!! Antique aircraft engineering textbooks and manuals, oh my! Some are as old as 1950. The information includes aircraft history, military aircraft, and care from metal fatigue.
Looking for a Mother’s Day present for your book-lover Mom? Look no further than our Mother’s Day section featuring spoof children's book, ‘Where the Wild Moms Are’. For the Mom who loves history, ‘Women who run with the Wolves’, and ‘Who Cooked the Last Supper’ are perfect Mother’s Day presents.
We now have a $2 record section for the niche records that we wanted to have in, but that we did not previously have room for.
Lame Book Joke:
